I will be spending the next couple of days at the AEJMC Conference in Washington, D.C. I have always enjoyed being part of this conference – the professors and students who attend are really engaged and active in research and practice, and overall it’s been a fun conference to go to.

What are some things I am looking forward to at this upcoming AEJMC Conference? Well, there are several things I am excited about:

  • Meeting friends and colleagues: It will be fun to meet some of my friends from over the years from Tennessee, USC, and other colleges as well. Social media has kept all of us in touch but it’s great to see everyone in person! 🙂
  • Meeting friends and colleagues IRL for the first time: There are several colleagues I’ve stayed in contact with via Twitter and Facebook, and I have the chance to meet them in real life. Super fabulous!
  • Testing out Google Glass at the conference: Along with my iPad, computer, and iPhone – I will be using Glass to record, update, and share content from the conference. Should be fabulous! Will keep you all posted.
  • Seeing some great presentations: The program looks great this year and I am excited to see what new research is coming out in PR.
  • Great tours, luncheons, and socials: We will be taking a tour of the Pentagon as a division while we are in DC along with having an Edelman luncheon event – along with several social events.

I will be pretty busy during the conference – not only prepping for my presentation on Saturday (bright and early at 8 am!), but also covering various sessions via social media. I am excited to be working with some talented ladies in the AEJMC PRD social media committee (Tiffany, Melissa, and Geah) and we will be covering everything on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and more. Should be fun! 🙂

To all of my friends heading to DC – safe travels and I will see you soon! Have a wonderful day.

Best Wishes,

Karen
