great wine capital Stellenbosch is one of the great wine areas of the world. In South Africa, it is one of the must places to see.  All of my co-workers at Total Media and friends in South Africa say that it is one of the places to go and see before leaving the country.  I have one word to describe it– amazing!

Some of us came to wine taste and others — like me — came to appreciate —everything!  We first started off at Nelson’s Creek Winery.  We had a chance to see the vineyards as well as to see how their wine is produced and manufactored.  After the tour, we tasted the wine.  What a great experience!  We then headed down the road to another winery, Beyerskloof Winery.

After getting a taste of South African wine, we headed off to Moyo at Spier (absolutely fabulous!)  So, how did I do on my diet? Well, if you don’t tell Jenny Craig I won’t! I guess this is what Jenny calls a ‘planned event’ — a time we choose to leave our diet temporarily, then get back on track the meal after. It seems to be working, because I am still dropping weight. Another fun thing I did was to pet a Cheetah! It was amazing!  We were told that it was going to be a cub, and it was pretty big!!!  Nice kitty! 🙂

Another day and another adventure in South Africa!

Best Wishes,

Karen  🙂

[…] I did have a wonderful visit to  Stollenbosch  that I talked about in a  previous post  and I have put up a page of some of the pictures I have taken during that experience; including the South African women’s hammer throwing champion, Karin ( Karin’s parents produce  “Clairvaux”  extraordinary wines) , and great wineries — like  Nelson Creek  and Beyerskloof  and a wonderful place to eat called  Moyo’s!  Hmmm, I guess I do think about good food quite a lot! I also do enjoy cooking, so it comes by naturally. […]
