my readings for May 25th, 2010

another beautiful day in Rio de Janeiro

Here are a couple of articles I am reading today. The first is important for all Public Relations professionals to read!

Huge Gap remains between mainstream media and social web

“The top stories in the mainstream press are markedly different than those that lead on social media platforms, a recent study by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism revealed.”

Colleges are discovering social media, at least the better ones!

“From public relations in social media to the potential marketing power of “mommy bloggers,” colleges and universities are offering graduate-level certificates focusing on the business side of Twitter, Facebook, and a host of other sites that draw Americans from every demographic.”
